Productivity. This single word is what drives much of our lives, and yet all of us have struggled to stay productive at one time or another. Regardless of the activity in question, we all want to be productive and maintain that productivity for as long as we can. Though it’s not always the easiest, there are a few ways you can trick your brain into some extra productivity. 

If you don’t see a recommendation that works for you, use these tips as a starting point for more research about productive work. 

  • Don’t Work TOO Hard – It might sound counterintuitive, but if you just plow through your tasks without stopping, stretching, eating, or drinking, it’ll actually be worse for your productivity. Break up your work into smaller tasks, and take regular breaks, to keep your mind and body fresh. 
  • Turn Off That Phone – Our phones are incredibly useful tools, but when we’re trying to be productive, they can steal our attention very easily. When you’re trying to remain productive, either silence or turn off your phone entirely. 
  • Take Deep Breaths – We mean this literally and figuratively! Deep breathing and meditation exercises can help you maintain your energy and motivation throughout the day, so literally, take some deep breaths. At the same time, a lot of lost productivity is spent worrying about the task at hand, so instead, try to let go of the pressure surrounding a task, and know that it will get finished one way or another.
