Everybody takes a different approach to their workday, but we all have a similar goal in mind; get our work done in the most efficient and effective way possible. That being said, everyone who has worked a 9-5 job will know that it’s impossible to work every hour of every day. On the other hand, you can’t spend 8 hours staring at the wall of your cubicle, so you have to find a good balance!
We gathered a few tips for staying motivated and productive at work so that you can optimize your workday.
- Step-By-Step – When things start to pile up at work, we can often be tempted to begin multitasking on our various projects. Unfortunately, experts strongly recommend against trying to multitask, and instead, putting your energy and focus into one distinct task at a time.
- Prioritize – Studies have shown that a person can accomplish more by tackling the difficult tasks earlier in the day, leaving the easier tasks for later, when you have less energy.
- Give Yourself A Break – Taking breaks throughout your day is a simple and easy way to refresh your brain. Rather than working nonstop through the day, try to stick to some scheduled break time as well, to stretch your legs and get the blood pumping again.
- Remain Accountable – Believe it or not, accountability is a significant aspect of productivity in the workplace. A workplace is a team, and if you don’t hold yourself accountable, it can affect the pace of your work, as well as the work of the people around you. Staying accountable helps you stay on top of deadlines, and keep the workplace running smoothly.
