If you have seasonal allergies, you know how annoying they can be. Whether you have a  plugged-up nose, itchy skin, or watering eyes, allergies can really drain your energy and be distracting. Different people experience allergies at different times of the year, but usually, everybody knows when their “allergy season” is.

Allergy Season is the specific time of year when your allergies always seem to be the worst. For some, the winter months are worse, because they are allergic to indoor particles, like dust and pet dander. For others, the spring and summer can be incredibly difficult, as pollen makes it impossible to go outside without having itchy eyes, a runny nose, or a sneezing attack.

So how can you battle back?

  • Pin It Down – One of the most important steps in dealing with your allergies is to know what exactly you’re allergic to. You might know that pollen makes your nose run, but you might not know that dust does as well! Consult a medical professional (Ear, Nose, and Throat Doc) to learn what you are allergic to and how to best deal with them.
  • Keep it Clean – Consistently dusting, vacuuming, and washing your surroundings can help ease the symptoms of allergies. If you are allergic to pollen, be sure to wash your clothes after going outside, and scrape the cat hair off of your couch while you’re at it.
  • Get Your Treat(ment)! – If you consult a doctor about your allergies, they can help you figure out the best allergy medication for the job. There are tons of different approaches to reducing symptoms and treating allergies, so knowing what works best for you will be a game-changer.
