How to Manage Your Time

Managing your time is one of the best skills to master! When you’ve mastered your time management, you’ll start to discover how much time you really have in a day, and how to use that time effectively. 

Now, time management isn’t about using every second of your day or always working. Time management means that you can schedule out tasks, and successfully break up your time into manageable chunks!

Doing so can help you get work done faster, open up your free time for more activities, and will leave you with more energy throughout your day. 

Here are some easy ways to improve your time management skills:

  • Prioritize– Learning when to say “yes” and when to say “no” is one of the biggest lessons in time management. Identify what tasks are truly important, and what tasks can wait. Make a list and schedule your tasks, breaks and other activities out within your day.
  • Schedule in breaks- To help you break up your time into chunks, try to schedule in breaks between every task. You should plan for your off time as much as you plan for your working time! 
  • Learn about yourself – Try to figure out when you are most productive, and when you are least productive. Everybody has a different internal schedule and will work better on more difficult tasks at different times. Figure out your best working times, and adjust! 
  • Eliminate distractions-Focus on the most difficult tasks when you have the most energy and while you are working on a project eliminate auto messages, pings, and other distractions.
