While the holiday season is filled with holiday cheer, presents, and maybe a little too much eggnog, the hustle and bustle around this time of year can bring along feelings of stress as well. Whether it’s family drama, the chaos of shopping, planning a holiday meal, or navigating expectations, the holidays can be a lot to handle.

We rounded up a couple of tips for unwinding this season:

  1. Set aside some  “Me Time” – While the holidays are a time for catching up with family and friends, it is still vital to slice out some time for yourself. Spreading yourself too thin can make you feel drained and exhausted! Don’t feel bad for taking a little time to decompress.
  2. Acknowledge Your Feelings – It’s normal to feel sad or lonely during this time of year. It serves as a reminder of loved ones we cannot be with. Don’t force yourself to be cheery just because it’s the holiday. Instead, reach out to close ones to express your feelings.
  3. Plan Ahead – A game plan to tackle all you want to accomplish during the holiday season can help you fit it all in. Whether making a shopping list or scheduling out family activities, prevent last-minute scrambling by planning ahead.
